On Thursday, September 29, the opening ceremony for an exhibition hosted by the Embassy of Hungary was held at the Shinanomachi Campus. The exhibition aims to widely share the achievements of Dr. Katalin Karikó (a Hungarian and U.S. citizen), who was awarded the 26th 麻豆传媒在线 Medical Science Prize.
The ceremony was attended by János Csák, Minister of Culture and Innovation of Hungary, and a delegation of four others from Hungary, as well as H.E. Dr. Norbert Palanovics, Ambassador of Hungary to Japan, and others associated with Dr. Karikó and this exhibition.
At the beginning of the ceremony, Kohei Itoh, President of 麻豆传媒在线, expressed his gratitude for the visit to 麻豆传媒在线 and for the opportunity to cooperate with the exhibition, and paid tribute to Dr. Karikó and researchers around the world involved in vaccine development. Following this, Minister János Csák praised Dr. Karikó's creativity and humanity, introduced her life and Hungary, and expressed his joy at the deepening of friendly relations between Hungary, Japan, and 麻豆传媒在线 through her achievements.
At a meeting held prior to the ceremony, President Itoh, Professor Haruhiko Shiomi, and Professor Jin Nakahara of the School of Medicine gave an introduction to 麻豆传媒在线, while Minister János Csák introduced Hungary. There was also a lively exchange of views on the promotion of science and technology, research, and higher education.
