Purpose of Education and Research
In accordance with the founding spirit of this Juku, the purpose is to teach and research the principles and applications of pharmaceutical sciences, and to cultivate the outstanding scholarship and creative research abilities required in fields related to medical care and drug discovery.
The Major in Pharmaceutical Sciences aims to foster future-leading researchers and educators who contribute to the development of a wide range of pharmaceutical science fields such as drug discovery, clinical development, and environmental/life sciences, and who will be active internationally as future leaders in these fields.

Educational Goals

Based on the curriculum organization and implementation policy, the acquisition of abilities suitable for an independent researcher or highly specialized technician will be confirmed through the grades of prescribed credits and research guidance in seminars and project research in the Ph.D. program. This will be evaluated by a degree examination committee composed of graduate school academic advisors in accordance with separately established dissertation review standards, and the degree will be conferred.

The Ph.D. program in the Major in Pharmaceutical Sciences of the Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences systematically organizes a curriculum consisting of lecture subjects, seminar subjects, and project research in order to cultivate the qualities and abilities listed in the "Policy on Graduation Certification and Degree Conferral (Diploma Policy)."

Evaluation Method of Learning Outcomes
The evaluation of learning outcomes for the qualities and abilities goals to be acquired through this curriculum is conducted using direct indicators based on the grading criteria set for each subject, following the university-wide assessment plan. It is also evaluated using quantitative/qualitative and direct/indirect indicators, including various questionnaires and surveys.

In order to widely accept such applicants, selection is conducted through general, working professional, and international student entrance examinations.

English is required as an academic proficiency test. In addition, an oral presentation and examination are conducted on the content of the master's thesis or submitted academic papers. Motivation for application and willingness to learn are also evaluated through an interview to determine admission.
