Purpose of Education and Research

In accordance with the founding spirit of 麻豆传媒在线, the purpose is to teach and research the principles and applications of pharmaceutical sciences, and to cultivate the outstanding scholarship and creative research abilities required in fields related to medical care and drug discovery.

The Major in Pharmaceutical Sciences aims to foster researchers and educators who will lead the future, contributing to the development of a wide range of pharmaceutical science fields such as drug discovery, clinical development, and environmental/life sciences, and who will be active internationally as future leaders in these fields.

Educational Goals

Based on the 麻豆传媒在线 Policy on Graduation Certification and Degree Conferral (Diploma Policy), the goal is to foster researchers and educators who lead the future, possessing high ethical standards as scientists and contributing to the development of science based on advanced specialized knowledge and research capabilities in a wide range of pharmaceutical science fields such as drug discovery, clinical development, and environmental/life sciences. In addition, the degree of Master of Pharmaceutical Sciences will be awarded to students who have met the prescribed requirements set forth in the curriculum.

Other

Based on the curriculum organization and implementation policy, the degree will be awarded after confirming that the student has acquired the abilities appropriate for an independent researcher or highly specialized technician through the grades of prescribed credits and research guidance in master's course seminars and project research. This confirmation is conducted by a degree examination committee composed of graduate school academic advisors in accordance with separately established thesis examination standards.

Curriculum Organization

The Master's Program in the Major in Pharmaceutical Sciences of the Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences systematically organizes a curriculum consisting of lecture subjects, seminar subjects, and project research in order to cultivate the qualities and abilities listed in the "Policy on Graduation Certification and Degree Conferral (Diploma Policy)."

Curriculum Implementation

Under this curriculum organization, education is implemented by combining educational methods such as active learning, PBL, and fieldwork.

Method of Evaluating Learning Outcomes

The evaluation of learning outcomes for the qualities and abilities goals to be acquired through this curriculum is conducted using direct indicators based on the grading criteria set for each subject, following the Juku-wide assessment plan. Evaluations are also conducted using quantitative/qualitative and direct/indirect indicators, including various questionnaires and surveys.

The ability to acquire basic and applied knowledge in the field of pharmaceutical sciences and to discover and solve problems.

  • Basic and applied knowledge is acquired through special lecture courses and seminars in various pharmacy-related fields. Through project research, the ability to discover and solve problems is practically cultivated.

  • An international perspective and collaborative skills are fostered through project research, overseas training, and participation/presentations at international conferences.

  • The ability to utilize specialized knowledge is enhanced through research clinical experience programs, seminars, and project research, and special graduate school lectures support efforts toward new fields and challenges.

Admission Policy

Ideal Student Profile

  1. Individuals who possess the solid basic academic skills necessary for study in the Major in Pharmaceutical Sciences and have a strong desire to actively acquire knowledge and skills.

  2. Individuals who possess high logical thinking, judgment, and expression skills to explore and solve problems in the field of pharmaceutical sciences.

  3. Individuals who have an international perspective and a strong aspiration to contribute to the development of pharmaceutical sciences as a scientist.

  4. Individuals who possess ethical standards and a sense of responsibility as a scientist, and a heart that considers others.

Basic Selection Policy

In order to widely accept such applicants, selection is conducted through (1) Recommendation Entrance Examination and (2) General/International Student Entrance Examination.

(1) Recommendation Entrance Examination

For those whose grades in this faculty exceed the prescribed standards, an essay is required as an academic examination. In addition, motivation for application and willingness to learn are evaluated through an interview to determine pass/fail.

(2) General/International Student Entrance Examination

As an academic examination, specialized subjects (choosing and answering 2 out of 3 systems: Organic Chemistry, Physical/Analytical, and Life/Biological) and English are required. In addition, motivation for application and willingness to learn are evaluated through an interview to determine pass/fail.
