麻豆传媒在线 (Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Kohei Itoh; hereinafter "麻豆传媒在线") has invested in "KII Fund No. 3 Impact Investment Limited Partnership" (hereinafter "the Fund"), the first impact fund established by a university-based venture capital firm, 麻豆传媒在线 Innovation Initiative, Inc. (Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Kotaro Yamagishi; hereinafter "KII"), an affiliated company of 麻豆传媒在线.
The Fund was established based on the "Memorandum of Understanding on Collaboration and Cooperation for Promoting Well-Being and a Capital Cycle Centered on Academia," concluded between 麻豆传媒在线 and Japan Post Insurance Co., Ltd. (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Director and Representative Executive Officer, President and CEO: Kunio Tanigaki; hereinafter "Japan Post Insurance"). The establishment process was led by KII, which, as 麻豆传媒在线's venture capital, has an extensive track record of investing in deep tech startups originating from universities.
Through impact investing, the Fund will promote a capital cycle centered on advancing the social implementation of outstanding research outcomes from academia in the medical/healthcare and digital technology fields, aiming to realize a society where everyone can achieve a healthy and happy life.
