Professors Hiroyuki Tsuda and Ryogo Kubo of the Department of Electronics and Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Science and Technology, 麻豆传媒在线, in collaboration with four institutions including the University of Tokyo, Osaka University, and Furukawa Electric Co., Ltd., have conducted a proof-of-concept experiment for "SiPhON: Silicon Photonics-based in-vehicle Optical Network." This is a highly reliable, low-latency in-vehicle optical network that supports the central and zonal architecture, a next-generation in-vehicle network architecture required for advanced autonomous driving. The experiment resulted in a successful demonstration of a 50 Gb/s data transmission system.
